- Edward William Ruffin
- Mr. Edward William Ruffin was one who loved and trusted God and received wonderful blessings that the Lord had prepared for him. God so prepared the birth of a gentle giant October 4, 1944, in El Dorado Arkansas. He worshiped and served a living Savior; He loved and supported his family, and he is cherished and fondly remembered by his wife of 36 years Jennifer L. Ruffin, His children Ivy Edina Ruffin, Ianne Edrin Ruffin Smith and Edward Iles Ruffin, his brothers and sisters, extended family, friends and neighbors. Edward was the fourth of nine children born to the parentage of Mr. William Edward Ruffin, Sr. and Mrs. Jewel Watts Ruffin who preceded him in death. To those who knew and loved him, he was a man who would put his needs ahead of others, who cherished his family and friends and could make you smile regardless of how you were feeling. He loved the Lord and always reminded those around him to trust in God first. There are not enough words to describe how much he is missed but he is remembered forever as a man with a big heart and an endless spirit of kindness.

I have come to the end of this earthly road,
my journey is just beginning,
as my soul has been set free September 19, 2007.
It’s a part of our Master’s plan,
a step on the road home,
for this a journey we all must take,
and each must go alone.
God knew I was getting tired,
and a cure was not to be,
so He put his arms around me,
and whispered “Come to Me”.
Don’t grieve now, for I am free.
I’m following the path God has laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I closed my eyes and left it all.
My golden heart stopped beating,
my hardworking hands are now laid to rest,
your hearts may be heavy and tears may be shed,
smile for me and be comforted knowing,
that God always knows what’s best.
